What to know before your cabinet installation day.
Stud finding and wall prep
Every cabinet should be anchored to wall studs — not just drywall. A proper installation starts with locating and mapping all studs in the work area.
Level lines first
The first thing a quality installer does is establish level lines on every wall before a single cabinet goes up. Floors are rarely level — the cabinets must be.
Scribing
Where a cabinet meets a wall or ceiling that isn't perfectly flat, the cabinet edge is scribed — cut to follow the exact surface — so there are no visible gaps.
What to have ready
Countertops should be ordered after installation, not before — final measurements are taken from the installed cabinets, not the drawings.
